Project 365; Through the lens of the iPhone.

Well, well, well..Here I am again, starting a new personal project of my own. The previous Project 365 brought you to many, well, a few places around the world. (Malaysia, Denmark, and France. The shots were taken by my trusty Sony Alpha A200 (which broke down twice, last year and middle this year) and my Samsung ST550 which i sent to warranty to fix up the touch screen (it was lagging). However, when i got it back, it lags even more. So i totally gave up on that. As for my Diana F+ (which i got this year for my birthday), is still new. Haven't gotten the chance to actually properly use it. I lost the colored films for the flash though. (*bangs head on the wall*). Oh well, that's the price for being clumsy.

Anyway, Project 365; Through the lens of the iPhone shots will be solely taken with my iPhone 4. It can be found on instagram and Facebook (and of course here, unfortunately my cable went mental). For this project, we will see the world through the lens of the iPhone. Using its capabilities, photography applications, and also to accept it's limitations, I will try to create an album of excitement, emotional appeal, boredom, and random shots. I am not putting any high expectations on this project as I have not been practicing my skills yet alone, touch my DSLR, digital, Diana, or my iPhone camera for that matter.

Why start this project?
Well, I am starting a new chapter in my life. From a clueless naive student to a Junior Account Executive at a advertising company. I'm an adult now, young adult. The responsibilities of an adult are slowly creeping in, and when i say slowly, i mean it is really taking it's time torturing me bits by bits.

Yes. It was a terrible sight for Malaysians on July 9, 2011. Millions sadden by words of comfort from the PM and Police; sadden by lies of words.

Did we not fight for independence more than 50 years ago? And last time i checked, aren't we not a country of democracy? Where is our freedom to voice out concern? Where is our freedom of speech?

When you watch the video, you tell me now, who is stupid. At 04:58, a fellow policeman was calling another person of the same race as he is "Melayu Bodoh", which mean "Stupid Malay". Go figure.

Innocent Malaysians were pointed weapons at and were rudely cursed at, some grew angrier and fought back, but only with mere words, and others, may never walk again or looked the same way.

All Bersih 2.0 meant was peace, there were no chaos from their side. Singing their National Anthem is all they did, proudly and loudly.

Let's build a nation free from mindless corruption, a nation free from lies.

Malacca Trip; Andy's Birthday Bash, 14 course meal, and the unfortunate event

On the 25th of February at 5.40pm, with 10 bottles of Chivas, Abby, Andy, Brandon, Joe, Calvin, Debbie and I drove to Malacca for Andy's 22nd Birthday Bash. The bash was held at A'Famosa where two bungalows was rented. There were about 15-20 people who were there. We partied hard, we partied like rock stars. We were in the kitchen, we were at the pantry, we were at the pool, basically we were everywhere. Joe was missing and we couldn't find him. He was not in his car, he was not in the room that he was suppose to be, no where in sight. The next morning, we saw empty bottles and a slice of pizza floating in the pool; still we couldn't find Joe. We tried calling his cell, but the line was out. Finally, Debbie found Joe in a room which he had all to himself.

With our bodies still intoxicated with alcohol, we then drove to Malacca town. There, we had a 14 course meal. For breakfast we ate 1. Pork Satay 2. Cendol 3. Durian Puff 4. Asam Laksa For lunch, 5. Chicken Rice Ball 6. Mochi 7. Pineapple Tarts 8. Jonker street Dim sum 9. Ice Blended juice and for dinner 10. Mango Joe's Juice 11. Otak-otak 12. Butter abalone 13. Steam Fish 14. Devil's Curry and others which i might have forgotten.

Basically we walked the whole Malacca town, from Jonker Street to Mahkota Parade. Well, thats not true, the beca was a great help to us. Because of all the walking, we decided to go for a foot massage. Brandon and Debbie had their very first foot massage. Apparently, it is their first and last foot massage. Brandon underwear was soaked in Chivas and so he was commando the whole way.

The Unfortunate Event

After our very late dinner at the Portuguese settlement, Debbie realized that our bags were missing from Calvin's car boot. We lost everything. And the first thing that Joe realized is that the two bottles of alcohol were missing. -_-!

All of us lost our favorite clothes, hairdryer, debbie's make-up, calvin's expensive jeans and shirts, and many more. We all drove home sad and angry...

But still, everything has a first.

We had our first road trip together, first time watching a movie in a foreign state together, first time staying in a same bungalow, first time getting a foot massage together, first time riding a beca together, and first time getting robbed together.

Hopefully, in our next road trip, there won't be any first anything.

Ready Set Date was organized by MMS (Multimedia Society) in conjunction with Valentine's Day. Unfortunately, the small event was not up to par. Only about 4 - 5 people showed up and the event was called off. The cupcakes which was baked by Jo-Ann was almost a waste. Almost meaning that we took the cupcakes and sold it in Uni the very next day.

March, the beauty of a heartache

This semester has certainly been the busiest one i ever had. Since this is my last semester, i am trying my best to give it my all (studies and friendships).

I went to the Philippines in the first week of March. Met my grandparents, my cousins, my uncles and aunts. Finally met my sister and lil brothers too. It was great to see my family again. One week with them was too short. I miss their insignificant fightings, my mum's jokes, lola's cooking, playing monopoly deal with my cousins. my uncle's stories, and my grandfather's talk on being proud to be a pinoy.

Me, my siblings, and my mum went to a place called Puerto Galera. Puerto Galera is one of the most beautiful beaches in the world. Fortunately, it was the low-peak season. There were not many people crowding the beaches and when we were there, the rain stopped for two days straight. We stayed in a resort called the Blue Crystal Resort. The resort has it's own private beach and swimming pool where it is cleverly located behind the mountains. The view was breath-taking. Waking up to the soft sounds of the waves hitting the beach and the moist salty air was one dream i was dreaming for a long time.

We spent our days lazing on the beach and swimming. We also did underwater cave diving, snorkeling, and sunbathing. At night, we watched the fire show and performances by drag queens. After spending three days in Puerto Galera, we headed back home (Calapan City) to my grandparents. Before flying back to Kuala Lumpur, we stayed in Manila city for two days. In Manila city, there were not many tri-cycles. So, we got around by using a cab.

Human Date Auction - Fundraising for HMN

Runway 101 Season 2 FINALE

It came and it went, Runway 101 Season 2 was definitely better than the first season. It was bigger, it was glamorous, the runway was walked by almost perfect models, colors from the beautiful gowns that they carried and there were more celebrity judges. Mr. Andrew from Andrew's Models, Actor/Producer Hans Isaac, former Miss Malaysia 2004/Humanitarian Andrea Fonseka, and Designer Amiq Luqman.

Bukit Damansara Hall was filled with fashionable people who came to cheer on their favorite model. The event was very professionally done by HELP's very own IPRMSA which was lead by Dennis Khor.

Helene, Sarah, Brandon, Aida, Calvin, and Debbie's mum were there to give Debbie all the support she needed. All we can say that she was amazing and very model-like.

It was a good night

Thanks to Calvin Khoo and Debbie Chen, we had VIP passes to 7aste Monte Carlo event at Ecoba! Many people attended the event, went home drunk, and left many sweet memories there. Runway 101 Season 2 Semi-Finals

Yup, It's back, it's bigger, and it's better!

Runway 101 Season 2

I was the photographer (MMS) for the Amir Muhammad Book Lauch and at the same time, Runway 101 Season 2 Semi-Finals was on-going. I tried my luck at taking some pictures of the Runway 101 season two models. This is my first try in taking models on a runway. I'm really bad at taking shots on on-moving objects/people. Without a proper flash and a very glaring background, all my pictures were overexposed. (Too much for my Sony Alpha to handle) It was so frustrating.

Anyway, 12 girls were chosen for the finale! Debbie's name was the last to be called out. Helene, Brandon and I were nervous wrecks!

However so, Congratulations to the top 12 finalist and of course to Debbie! Finale is on the 15 of October 2010, Friday, at 7.30pm. It's gonna be held at Bukit Damansara Community Hall. Tickets are still on sale! RM50 (Front Row) and RM30 (Normal)

Brandon's Surprise Cake Cutting Session at Andalus and The Piranha experience

Before we had this little gathering at Andalus, Brandon, Debbie, Reshma, and I had his pre-lunch celebration at Carl's Jr. Aida then came after.

We then had a movie session - Piranha

Debbie couldn't join us as she had to take the train to Seremban.

Reshma has chosen Piranha over Resident Evil thinking it to be as a less scary movie. Boy she was wrong. Piranha was the most gory film i have ever seen in my good 23 years of living. Sure there were cheeky scenes such as, girls with big boobies bouncing here and there, some girl's ass being eaten by the piranha, guys with sculptured like abs, and a hot police mum, a scientist, a foul-mouthed porn director, two British accent girls with extremely huge boobs, and Jessica Szohr (Ed Westwicks's girlfriend-Vanessa in Gossip Girl)

All three girls (Me, Reshma, and Aida) were screaming our lungs out. We had to, the cinema was soooooo quiet. However, poor Brandon had to endure it...

Myanmar Cultural Night by Outback Steakhouse Bangsa

Dear blog,

Debbie, Andelisia, Miko, and I did a catwalk for a Myanmar Cultural Night hosted by Outback Steakhouse. We were paid RM100 each to do the show. It was Andelisia that approached us in class asking if we wanted to. "Why not?!" I told her. It could be a good experience to do so.

So Debbie and I accepted. Debbie bought a pair of towering heels (I think it was at least 5inch tall) The event was on the 13 of September 2010 which fell on a Monday. After our 8am class, Debbie and I rushed to Mid Valley. I wanted to get a pair of heels as well. :-) I forced Debbie into her new heels so that she would get used to it. (*It was for her own good - Me love you Debbie!!! Hahaha!*)

We then reached home and got ready right away. Brandon drove us to Swiss Garden Hotel (that's where the event was held) He was a dear to wait for us throughout the rehearsal and the event itself. (Love you sayang!)

During the rehersal, we were all over the place, the stage was a bit jumpy and we were so hungry! Which person in the world would eat right before a fashion show? US!

Anyway, there were not many pictures. Brandon only took videos. Hopefully Debbie has some good ones!

Here are some behind-the-stage pictures i manage to take.

This is me, after being touched-up by a Myanmar make-up artist named Francine. She (or he) was kinda rough when applying the make-up but she obviously did a good job in covering those imperfections.

Sandy is back from Hawaii! Me, Debbie, Helene, and Sandy went for lunch before she sets back. We went to Zouk Cafe for lunch and walked around for a bit. The day was short and sweet as Helene had to go back to uni for class and i had to pick up Brandon's car from the workshop.

The Birthday Bliss

My birthday came and went, it was a quiet one this year. Being my age, you wish you just stop aging at 21. Probably because all my peers are either one year younger or two. ;P

Helene, Debbie, Calvin, Syed, and Joe came to visit at the stroke little after midnight. Helene and her mum baked and iced 29 colorful and delicious cupcakes! Debbie and her bitch; Calvin (as stated in my birthday card) bought me a peculiar shaped red bunny as a gift - LOVE IT!

The girls spent the night talking about ghost stories and the boys, sitting in the living room watching the tv.

Sarah was suppose to visit too but she never had her chicken pox yet. Brandon might infect with shingles. Sandra had curfew..

Dearest almost forgotten one;

Project 365 is almost a year old! I should really post up the remaining ones soon. After finals that is. This semester is coming to an end and there are many events i'm looking forward in the month of July. Dearest Sandra Heung is coming back, Internship, and hopefully i will be visiting Sunway Lagoon for the very firs time in my life.

Tracy, Mandy, and San-San are all in KL. Still everyone is busy with their life. We hardly met. Only once, on Mandy's Birthday.

Oh..did i mentioned, i have no internet for almost two months now. It is excruciating. It is like i lost a limb! It is so hard when it comes to assignments, to check my emails, to check my Facebook games (yes i admit their kinda fun) and upload my pictures. It is like a death sentence.

Moving on,

I will not be going back to Annecy this summer due to the inappropriate timing of my internship and also i got my both wisdom tooth out last April (General Anesthetic) and it already cost more than my ticket to fly back there. *Bummer*

In Annecy, Abby broke her leg, Timothy still with tennis, Amanda didn't get in Elle Elite this year, Mark, is still Mark, my mum is still the driver, chef, disciplinary teacher, maid,and etc for the family, and Lars, stock markets and tennis.

In Kota Kinabalu, Daniel will be down form Russia July 4th (I think), little cousins doing well, oh I have a new baby girl cousin named Clarabelle or something, Teddy is having his exams soon, standard three exams, the grown-ups, are just doing their grown-up routine... erm...I guess the dogs are doing ok. Thats it.

In Kuala Lumpur, wake-up, go to uni, eat, photographs, assignments, sleep, uni, uni, day-dream, happy, missing family, missing mum, lovey-dovey, heart-ache, uni, sleep, eat, diet, eat, diet, eat, sleep, diet not working, angry, give-up, sleep sleep, uni...and it goes on...

There is so much to update in here. My blog looks so death, well, actually it is. Nothing exciting happened so far, it is just the same-old-same-old.

So many things are going through my life now; my wisdom tooth operation, tons of piled up assignments to be done in less than a week and a half (7 journals to be written, create a 5-page complete magazine, Literature Review with 7 journals to review, and advanced marketing chronology journal to be done), moving to a new place, and so much more.

These are things were the outsiders don't see, they don't see your inner stress and how your emotions and swirling around in confusion. As for the future, what is there to look forward to?

My thoughts so far;

When I graduate, there is about 25% that i could get a job, 9% that job will be the job of my dreams, 30% if i could get a stable job, 25% that i will go back to French School, 0.01% get married and have children, and 10.99% being jobless and pathetic.

Without me Sony Alpha, I couldn't be bothered to take pictures and post them up. What a sore loser I am. Still, I do have a new (second) lover! The Samsung ST550 a gift from my first lover, sweetheart, sayang, and baby, Mr. Brandon.

As you can see, the Samsung ST550 is the world's first 2view camera. Some said it is the camera made for girls; the cam whoring tool. Guess what they REALLY mean is that girls cam whore alot. It does not work just for cam whoring, it also works when your taking a group picture with the timer on. You can see if everyone fits the picture perfectly. With a 4.6 optical zoom and with 12.2 megapixels, without a doubt it captures beautiful picture from up close or far away.

Some examples;

However, when using the flash, you have to wait a while before you can another another picture. The battery life is not so good. If you ever want to get this camera, get a second battery.

Overall, everything is going well. Project 365 is on a break for a while. A bit busy/LAZY to update the pictures. I will gain courage and i shall upload them!
